~Sunlight Might~
At its source, burning nuclear reaction,
Hot enough to make butter
From titanium steel.
Thru Gaia's blue blanket
And many million miles of travel,
It becomes our lifeblood...
Making darkness heel.
Sunlight might...
Be the reason trees
Rake the clouds for light,
Or dust dances in beams,
While fruit ripens
At the seams.
Waking the birds;
Warming the globe
One half at a time,
Its power is immense.
Caressing our flowers
With all its solar powers,
Energy, synergy...
God's fingerprints.
Sunlight might...
Find people napping
On white beaches of sand,
Or chase a rainbow across
A Spring-rain mist.
The beaches....Gaia's upturned hand;
The rainbow....a bracelet on Her wrist.
Even lunar light is
But a mimic
Of sunlight's might...
Cratered beauty
Performing Her
Ageless, tidal duty.
Sunlight might...
Always be the divider
From season to season,
And may one day melt
Our planet's poles.
But for whatever reason,
(Much to our delight)
It has a way of warming us
To our very souls.
