Construction yard
It's the heart of any base.
Protect it at any costs. As for the enemy one, destroy it before anything
else.
Concrete slabs
Just foundation
for buildings. Always place buildings on concrete, even if it seems to
slow your building rate.
Walls
Pretty useless,
because it takes a long time to surround you base with them. Always use
double or triple wall layers. As for the enemy ones, never mind them.
Windtrap
The windtrap is the power-producing
structure. It's quite weak, so make sure you always have backup ones. Don't
bother to destroy the enemy ones unless you want to silence their r-turrets
or do some other low-power damage.
Refinery
The money-maker. You need lots
of refineries to make sure you're not finished if one of them is destroyed.
Don't go for the enemy ones, they've got plenty of armor and you've got
more important buildings to take care of.
Spice silo
Cheap spice storage space. Only
build them if you're swimming in cash. Never go for the enemy silos, they're
not important (except if they're the last buildings he's got left).
Barracks
--
This building traines infantry.
It's useful only at the low tech levels. At the higher ones you have to
build it just to have access to more advanced structures. It should be
the fifth enemy building to destroy.
Outpost
The outpost is the radar building.
If you've got enough power, it will activate the radar map. It's useful
to destroy the enemy outpost only if you're playing against a human opponent.
Light factory
This building is pretty useless
at high tech levels. You should only build it if you can't build the heavy
factory or if you have the v1.06 patch and you're playing on multiplayer,
with the ordos of course (stealth raiders are great!). The enemy l-factories
are the fourth class of buildings to annihilate.
Heavy factory
This is a must-have. It builds
most of your army. However, if you're at level 6 (tech level 5 in multiplayer),
you don't need it, because you can get everything from the starport. This
is the same for the ordos at level 5. As for the enemy one, it's the third
structure to wipe out.
Gun turret
It's the basic turret in the
game. It's only useful against soldiers and in the low tech levels and
middle-campaign missions. Destroy the enemy ones with launchers and siege
tanks.
Rocket turret
The r-turret is the advanced
turret model. It's extremely useful, except against soldiers and missile
launchers (which can out-range it). Use launchers against the enemy r-turrets.
Starport
The starport is THE building.
It is an absolute must-have. You always get stuff cheaper from here. Once
you have a starport, the only use of your other factories is to build your
special units. It's the second enemy building to destroy.
High-Tech factory
This is a pretty useless building.
Never build it in single player! The ordos don't need it. Only build it
on multiplayer if you have the v1.06 patch (otherwise you can't build the
stealth raider).
Repair pad
It's quite useful. I always
build it. It's excellent for quick retreats (tell your units to repair
and the carryalls will take them to your base).
IX
You MUST have it, otherwise
it's bye-bye special units. But it's not vital, so don't bother about the
enemy ones.
Palace
--
It's a must-have for our army.
It's very useful. The saboteurs will ensure the Cartel's victory. If you
know how to use them, they're the best weapon in the whole game. Also,
the emperor's palace is great. Capture it whenever you can. |
