The Ordos don't need the
weak Light Infantry. Istead of it, we use Chemical Troopers. These troopers
fire their chemical sprey at short range. The chemicals can kill infantry
very fast.
The AA Trooper fires guided
missiles which are deadly against aircraft. They're also great against
vehicles.
The Mortar Crew is artillery
infantry. You will have to deploy it in order for it to fire. Combined
with the Kobra Cannon, these guys could do serious damage.
These trained terrorists
have a sole purpose in life: accomplishing their suicidal mission. The
powerful explosives that they carry can blast enemies, making sure that
the Saboteur's sacrifice was worth it. A Saboteur can smash into units,
as well as buildings.
The Ordos Engineer can capture
buildings and remove Leech larvae, like other Engineers. He can regenerate
health, like all Ordos units.
The Scout is a very fast
unit with a long line of sight. It becomes stealthy when it doesn't move.
So it's best used for... scouting, of course.
The Dust Scout is a spider-like
vehicle with great speed. It fires a machinegun. It's able to bury itself
into special sand (dust basins) becoming completely invisible to the enemy.
It's excellent for ambushes.
This is our Laser Gun Suspensor
Tank. It is a fast hovering vehicle that fires a laser beam. Like all Ordos
units, it can slowly regenarate health. It's our basic tank.
The Ordos APC is a hovering
vehicle. It's faster but with less armour than the Atreides one, and it
fires powerful missiles at both air and ground targets.
Ah, the Kobra Cannon...
Our powerful tank that can deploy into a devastating artillery! It makes
our ennemies shudder. The Kobra can act both as a tank and as a fixed artillery.
The Deviator is one of the
best vehicles in the Ordos arsenal. It fires missiles that contain a special
brainwashing gas. The gas takes control of enemy units and makes them yours
for 30 seconds. It only takes 1 shot to deviate any unit.
The MCV can deploy on rock,
turning itself into a Construction Yard. This vehicle is expensive and
slow.
The Harvester is the workhorse
of your resourcing operations. It is the only unit capable of collecting
spice and delivering it at a Refinery. If you lose all your Harvesters,
you get one for free (as long as you still have at least one Refinery).
This is the Carryall, a
huge transport aircraft. It automatically picks up Harvesters and moves
them around the map, just like in Dune 2000.
The Advanced Carryall in
not automatic, you can control it. It acts a lot like the Orca Carryall
from TS. It can move any one vehicle around the map.
The AA Mine is a flying
AA defence. It "attacks" by self-destructing and releasing a cloud of missiles
on the enemy aircraft.
The Eye in the Sky is the
main Ordos air unit. It's more of a transport than a fighter. It can be
deployed, to make it parachute a Saboteur down. The Eye in the Sky will
explode in the process. The explosion does some damage, but most of it
is done by the Saboteur.
The Construction Yard is
the heart of any base. It builds all the other buildings.
This is the Ordos Windtrap.
It uses the strong arrakian wind to provide power to Ordos bases. It has
only weak armor.
The Barracks is where the
Ordos soldiers are trained to fight for their House and for their own profit.
It produces infantry.
This is where all the Ordos
air units are produced. It can be upgraded to produce more advanced weapons.
The Gas turret sprays lethal
chemicals that melt metal and burn flesh. It is an infantryman's worst
nightmare. But it has a short range, so we must guard it against long-ranged
attackers.
The Ordos Refinery is just
like the other houses' refineries. It is the place where Harvesters unload
spice. Refineries can be upgraded with unloading "docks", so up to 3 Harvesters
can unload at the same Refinery.
This is the building that
gives us a very important thing for Ordos commanders: The radar map. It
needs power to operate.
This building creates all
Ordos vehicles. It is equipped with high-tech devices and it is rumoured
to contain ilegal technologies.
The Pop-Up Turrets normally
stays hidden in the ground. But when enemies are detected, these turrets
seem to appear out of nowhere to take them out.
It is sometimes called our
favourite building. It allows the Ordos to purchase units from the CHOAM
merchants' guild. But the price changes with time... and the merchants'
greed.
The Ordos Palace gives us
access to our superweapon, the Chaos Lightning. It strikes from orbit and
drives anything that is touches into a mad killing rage. Hit buildings
continue to do their normal work, but extremely slowly.
