Chaos sabotage
Use about
15 or more deviators to create chaos in the enemy base. While he's occupied,
sneak in a huge army of saboteurs and destroy everything!
Stealing harvesters
Use a deviator
to get an enemy harvester. Tell it to go to the refinery, so he'll be picked
up by a carryall. Once he's dumped his load, build walls around him. When
he'll turn back into enemy, he won't stand a chance. Then you can sell
a wall to make an entrance to the "prison" and do all of this all over
again. If you see an enemy carryall comming to pick up the "prisoner",
quickly deviate it.
Stealth attack
If you have
the v1.06 patch, build a sea of stealth raiders (50 or more). Get them
all around an enemy harvester, then attack it. Once it's gone, move on
to the next one. The enemy will eventually send his whole army after you.
Keep him occupied, don't retreat. While he's on a wild goose chase, send
in a sea of saboteurs (make sure his army is far enough from his base).
Sniffing fremen
The stealth
raiders are good for almost everything. If you're fighting againt atreides,
your saboteurs might have problems getting in because of the fremen. Send
a few stealth raiders to find a safe way in. If you don't have the v1.06
patch, you can use ordinary raiders. The fremen will start shooting and
become visible. The problem is these raiders die much faster, because they're
visible.
AA outpost
In the middle
of your base, build 4 R-turrets in a square formation. A few of these can
make short work of any 'thopters.
Death hand decoy
On a rock
near the harkonnen base, build a wall of R-turrets. Every time you attack
him, make it look like you're comming from behind that wall. He'll use
his death hands trying to blow up that imaginary base (sell the const.
yard you used to build the R-turrets).
Dizzy devastators
If the enemy
is using devastators and you don't have deviators yet (so you can't use
the famous
"deviate and self-destruct"
tactic), here's how to make them really dizzy. Attack it with two groups
of units, one from the front and one from the back. Because devastators
rotate so slowly, he'll try to shoot at one group, but before he can do
that he'll get shot by the other and start rotating in that direction.
If he's only attacking one group, ignoring the other, then that "other"
will kill it.
Sonic trouble
The sonic
tanks are the only decent special unit the atreides have. The grenadiers
and the fremen are useless, while the 'thopters are good againt the computer,
but useless against humans.
The weakness of the sonic tanks
is that they usually shoot through their own units. Use raiders or stealth
raiders to shoot at them and move around them. Because raiders are so fast,
the s-tanks will miss and hit their own units.
S-tank silencers
Walls of
R-turrets are excellent against sonic tanks, because the s-tanks usually
get killed before they can shoot.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Total
deviation
Also called
the deviator rush: build about 40 deviators and 10 launchers. Put the deviators
in the front line. Use them to deviate the enemy vehicles. Use those as
your main army. The launchers are there to eliminate pesky turrets.
Gateway
Build a multiple
wall around your base. You'll need a gateway to let your units out. The
gateway has to be a narrow "hole" with 3 R-turrets and a normal turret
on each side.
Capture strategy #1 for human
opponents
When your're
fighting against several enemies: Ally with one of them. Attack another
one with a combined force (you and your ally). The force must contain a
huge engenier army. make sure the engeniers fall behind. In the middle
of the battle, send the engeniers against your ally.
Capture strategy #2 for human
opponents
When your're
fighting against an enemy with more bases: Build a HUGE army and send it
against the weakest of his bases. Don't attack. Send him a message. Tell
him to surrender his base for a while, then he can take it back. Use an
engenier to capture his const. yard . Build all his special buildings at
your base, then attack and destroy that weak base. A true ordos never keeps
his word!
Divide et impera
As far as
I know, that's latin for "divide and conquer". It's my favourite strategy
against human opponents. Ally with two of them, then tell them to attack
each other. The winner will be weakened by the battle and you'll easily
take him out.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Devastating
bait
If you deviate
a devastator with no army around it (or if you're playing with the harkonnen),
then don't self-destruct ir right away. Use it as a bait to attract their
army into a trap. When they come close to it, self-destruct. If they won't
come, take out some harvesters.
Sabotage of death (hand)
Saboteurs
are an excellent weapon, but they're even better when helped by a death
hand. Capture a harkonnen palace. When the death hand is ready, send it
against the enemy defences.
Before he's got time to regroup,
attack his main buildings with a wave of saboteurs.
Stealth menace
This is the
stealth raider rush. It's one of the best multiplayer strategies. First
build a huge stealth raider army(the bigger, the better). Attack and destroy
an enemy turret or R-turret, then retreat to a safe place. Because the
raiders are so fast, he'll never find you. Do this until all his defences
are gone. Then send your stealth raiders in a suicidal attack against the
enemy const yard. They'll probably destroy it. Afterwards, send in your
main attack force.
Soldier rush
This is simple,
but efficient. Just build a huge number of soldiers and sent them against
the enemy. The best soldiers to use are imperial sardaukar. You can also
use saboteurs, troopers and harkonnen sardaukar. Warning! NEVER use infantry,
fremen, engeniers, grenadiers and thumpers. They'll just get killed right
away.
