Tributes of stone
Mark the spot where you lie alone
A dying rose
Proves that you're remembered by those
Those who mourn
Sorrowful now that your life is gone
Your memory saved
By those who will one day join you in the grave
Time will pass
No-one will remember anything but stone
Memories fade
Soon no-one visits and you're finally alone
Rest in peace
With no-one crying for the maggots feast
No mortal binds
Your soul is free, no fetters hold you behind
Destiny calls you
The gate to beyond opens, and once you're through
The gate must close
For of where you dwell now, no-one living can know

Like the dust that lies beneath your stone
Time will pass
