Warning
Open your eyes, how can you not see?
The human race consumed by apathy
Sit and watch as the planet dies
Hoping time will heal what we've covered with lies
We've destroyed the ozone with aerosol sprays
No longer protected from ultraviolet rays
We're killing ourselves, yet no-one sees
Just how ignorant can humanity be?
Smokestacks to kill our skies
Oil slicks to kill our seas
Landfills hold a toxic surprise
And malls are more important than trees
Acid rain is in the air
Many species are fading away
Still, it seems that we don't care
How quickly the end is coming our way
A wake up call is what we need
This message is but only a seed
Alas I know it will only grow
When people begin to take heed
For when we can't breathe the air outside
We'll realize how much we've let things slide
When the water is poison and the plant life dead
What will you dream of, at night in bed?
Will you dream of what you could have done?
Back in the days when you could walk in the sun
By then, these dreams will have come too late
To save you from this horrible fate
For when the polar caps begin to melt
And the seas begin to rise
The Earth will begin its rebirth
With humanities demise
