THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD

 Katrina99
CH 14

As Jordan sat quietly Rodelyn sat next to him, in shock. She'd been so into herself and her feelings. She should have been happy that Jordan would be able to give Evan the life he deserved. If he, If he...A tear slid down her cheek as she tried to think of what could happen. Right now all her thoughts were on Jordan and Evan. She rubbed his back gently as she felt his shoulders shake with anguish. It was unfair. Evan had never done anything to anyone and here he was in this situation. She time could turn back right now...

"Do you want anything to drink Jordan." It was all she could think of to say.

"No." He mumbled. But she got up and went to get him a drink anyway. She needed to get away. She walked down the corridor to the cafeteria and got two cups of coffee. This was something she wasn't used to. Seeing someone else's pain. It was usually her. She didn't know what to say, what to do. She just didn't know. She needed help. She remembered she was holding Jordan's cellular phone. Sitting down at an empty table she turned it on and went to memory. Sure enough Jonathan's number came up on the screen. She hit redial and moments later Jonathan's voice came on the phone.

"Hello?"

Rodelyn tried to keep her composure as she spoke but as soon as soon as she said hello, she started crying. Between cries she got out to Jonathan what was happening to Evan. She didn't tell him about what the doctor had found out about Jordan.

"Stay put, I'll be down as soon as possible."

"Jon, I don't know what to do. I've never seen Jordan like this and it's really scaring me."

"Just be there for him. Just stay with him Rodelyn, I'll be there soon." His soothing words hardly to touched her as she hung up. She felt guilty for wanting to stay right where she was. She felt for Evan just as much as Jordan but she was so used to avoiding her own pain, handling someone else's at the same time, she didn't know how.
