| THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD
Katrina99 Three months later "He's been so, I don't know, lethargic these past few months Jon. It's like he doesn't even realize that the world is still turning." Rod sat at the caf and with Jonathan that Sunday afternoon. These lunches were becoming a regular thing for the two of them. Jordan had them both worried. Three months had passed since Evan's death and Jordan hadn't get any better. He woke up, did nothing, and went to sleep every day, hardly talking to anyone or even leaving his house. "I know he's scaring you but if you think about it from his prospective. He lost a son, a son he never knew he had until basically the day he died, so he's had to deal with a double blow." "I know that Jon, I loved him too. But I can't even tell him about the baby, I'm scared to." "No, you cannot do that to him. You have to at least let him know that he's going to be a father again before you give birth. He's already missed out once Rod." Rod sat shaking her head in agreement and fear. It was all she thought about. She didn't want to be like Linda even thought she knew damn well she would never be her, but what if Jordan wasn't ready for a child right after loosing his first. When she'd gotten the news that she was pregnant it was bittersweet. She was happy that she could give Jordan another chance at fatherhood, from day one but she was upset that it had to happen so soon. Jordan was still in his grieving period and no one knew when he would start to come alive, it didn't seem like anytime soon. "I know Jon, believe me, I hear it everyday, it's either you or Kat telling me. I'm just scared mostly. Scared for him, for me, for us. Are we even ready for this?" That was her other worry. After one night, their first attempt at a relationship he'd hit the spot. They didn't even know if they would last together. Only time would tell. "Well you can't be the only one scared in this, give him a chance to be scared, and think about it." He smiled at her. "You know I keep hearing a lot about this Kat from you, she sounds like and alright girl." Rodelyn grinned at him. "Oh she is believe me." "So when am I going to meet her?" "Well, I don't know, but hold your horses sir, she's married. But I'll tell you this, if she wasn't?you two would be an item by now. She's had a crush on you for years." She said the last part in a conspiratory tone. "But tell her I told you and we're both dead." "Why are all the good ones married?" Rodelyn was glad that she and Jonathan were becoming good friends. He kept her spirits up even when she could hardly think straight. These past few months had to be the hardest in her life. Jon looked at his watch and told her that he had to go, and that she needed to go see Jordan. He hugged her, paid for their food and walked with her to their vehicles. "Once again, thanks so much Jon. Here I am, the psychiatrist and you're the one helping me out. I think you missed your calling, Dr. Knight." Jonathan laughed and they both went their separate ways.
