| Chapter Five: Enhance! |
"Guuuh..What do you want now child...?" Said a very annoyed voice.
"Maldrayo! Why is it you never help us when we need you?!" I shouted at him.
"Lower your tone or I'll destroy you where you stand. You have no right to question me. I gave you your powers and I can just as easy take them from you. the simple notion that you would even fathom demanding answers from me is laughable. You WILL continue this quest, and you will Destroy Malzakk, or I will destroy YOU!" Said Maldrayo.
"BUT WHAT HAS MALZAKK DONE TO DESERVE DEATH?!" I yelled.
Suddenly I felt my chest tightening, I couldn't breathe. I fell to my knees gasping for air. I beat at my chest But it was no use, I couldn't breathe. Gasping, I crawled to the door and started hitting it with all my strength. It was getting worse. Joey opened the door and found me on the floor.
"..? What the hell?!" Said Joey.
"H........e..ll.....p.." I choked out.
Suddenly the choking stopped, I could breathe again. I collapsed on the floor. I could barely move. I lay there and breathed slowly. Joey stared in disbelief.
"Do you see what happens when you defy me?" Asked Maldrayo.
"You sick bastard! You're supposed to be our spirit guide!!" Joey yelled.
"Are you defying me also? Are you that foolish?" Asked Maldrayo.
"..."
"..."
"Thats what I thought. Do not disturb me again for such ridiculousness." Said Maldrayo.
And then the voice was gone. I was still on the floor trying to breathe. Joey was very confused and angry. Why did he do that? Something wasn't right. We had to ask someone...But who? No one could help us... The only one who could answer our question was Malzakk. I stood up and called Rob in. He walked in, once again bare-assed and with his Ninja mask on.
"Dammit Rob where are your clothes?" I asked.
"In my room, what do you want?" He asked, I noticed he was holding a tooth brush.
"We're changing our course of action. We're gonna go find Malzakk, and ask him the questions that Maldrayo won't answer. We aren't gonna kill something that we don't even know anything about!" I said.
"Yea I agree." Said Joey.
"We need to get moving and get too...Joey wheres the next closest place?" I asked.
"Um...The plateau..But the closet continent is Kadmar. We should go there next." He answered.
"Do you think we're ready? We should atleast get to level 10 first..." Said Rob.
"Good Idea." I said.
"Come on lets get ready." Joey said.
After all that, we got ourselves prepared and headed out of Arista Park. We had a large food supply with us, and plenty of potions. Along the way we defeated a few small enemies and Rob and Joey leveled up. By the time we had made it to the plateau (Which was surprisingly far from Arista Park, Despite the map) We had all reached level 5. We all leanred a new ability, And I learned the new magic: Aero. Pretty cool!
"So Damian, why don't you ever try that Enhance ability you have?" Asked Joey.
"I dunno." I said.
"Use it." Said Rob.
"If I have to..." I said.
"Ready... ENHANCE!!!" I said, Trying it out.
A bright Aura surrounded me. And then I fell over. Everything went ...white. I Stood up, but the world around me wasn't what it was before. It was...distorted... With off colors...and I wasn't on the floor...I was just....there. I heard a Voice.
"Don't be afraid Damian, I brought you here only to help you." Said the voice.
"Maldrayo...?" I asked.
"No. For now, my indentity must remain a mystery. If I told you now, you'd just be more and more confused. But, I will say this: Malzakk is not your enemy. Do not listen to Maldrayo." Said the Voice.
"Wha...? Well... Makes sense...But..." I started to say.
"No questions, Not now Damian. I'm not here to answer your questions, not yet. I am only here to teach you to enhance. You must channel all of your energy to become your enhanced form: Nuclear Nova. Only do it in emergencies, because Enhancing will leave you weak, tired, and out of energy. For now, only you can enhance, but Robbie and Joey will soon learn how as well. I will contact you again soon Damian. Keep safe." It said.
And then I woke up. My friends were looking at me. They asked me if I was ok, and I told them I was. Then I told them about the strange dream I had. They both understood what was happening. Maldrayo was gonna try to trick us into defeating Malzakk. We couldn't let him win. We would go to Malzakk and tell him what happened. He'd surely do something about it! With that decided, we put out the fire...well They did, I built my own fire away from them, and then we went to sleep.
