| Chapter Twenty-Five: The Great Flood |
The water the was now up to my ankles. I ran to the city again as Leviathan slithered through the water trying to find the problem. I looked around the city. I could see nothing that. I heard a cackling laughter from somewhere far away.. I unsheathed my sword and looked around, expecting to find Schizo. I heard a swoosh above my head. I looked up and saw a Shadow fly over me. It started jumping from building to building.
Leviathan came up behind me and gave me a lift to the building tops. Most of the buildings were made to be close together, so I had no problem jumping from roof to roof trying to catch him. He continued to bounce around, trying to escape. He threw things at me, but I easily evaded them. Finally we reached the last building. He had no where left to run.
He turned to face me. He was pitch black, like darkness itself. His eyes were bright yellow, with red pupils. He had three curved spikes coming out of his head and a long tail. His feet were curvey, and He had a wicked grin. His mouth was filled with Black teeth. He glared at me. He held up his hands and it started to rain harder. He was causing this storm!!!
"What are you doing!?" I demanded.
"Drowning Juruda." He replied.
"Who are you?" I asked
"My name is Demetris. I am a demon sent to destroy this continent." He answered.
"Who sent you?!" I yelled.
"A Dragon." He said.
"WHAT DRAGON!?" I demande.
"You can not defeat me, Juruda will be drowned. Even If I perish Juruda will continue to flood." He said calmly.
This apparently ment I had to fight him. He jumped up high and shot a blast of Shadow energy at me. I tried to block with my sword, but he was too fast. I was knocked back onto a different building. I jumped back up and ran at him. I lept to his rooftop and went to slash him with my sword. He dodged quickly and I slammed into a wall. He laughed as I rubbed my head. As I tried to get back up to retaliate, he shot more beams of shadow at me. He missed, but I was still dazed from the massive blow to the head.
He started to run from roof to roof now. It was a race. I started to chase him, but he was much faster. I started to cast magic on him, but my attacks weren't technically projectiles. All of my weaker attacks were, but the ones that would damage him were useless. Then I remembered another spell I had learned. Shadow Mirror. I stopped moving and used it. A Black Aura surrounded me and then my body flashed a transparent color. He didn't realize what happened. He went to shoot another Shadow beam at me, but it only healed me. The Shadow mirror had Absorbed the Shadow Element.
Demetris was extremely confused by this. He started to make the storm worse. He created a large lightning based attack slam down into me. It did twice as much damage to me as it usually would, but the Mirror reflected the damage back to him so we both took damage. We were both smoking from the heat of the lightning. He finally realized that he couldn't use elemental attacks. I smirked. Now that I had reduced his strongest method of attacking, I could counter attack with my strongest method.
I enhanced. I changed into Nuclear Nova. As soon as my green suit covered my body, I was ready to go. He didn't comprehend the position he was in. He ran at me and tried to physically attack me, but his attack was met with a huge blast of plasma energy from my hand. He was blown back several feet. He continued trying to attack, but He was destroyed everytime. Finally, he couldn't take it anymore. He just fizzled and disappeared. I scoffed and changed back to normal.
I jumped down off the buildings. The water was now knee high. I found Leviathan easily and told him about defeating Demetris and he said that we had to evacuate everyone. I jumped on his back and we rushed through out the city. I got off and helped pile small children onto Leviathans back. He told me the closest continent was Xenon, so he started to swim there as fast as he could.
I ran around getting people to higher elevations, enhaching and using my light dashing to get the people to the roof of the buildings. The water was about up to my waste by the time I had evacuated the entire village to the roof. Leviathan quickly returned, and loaded more people onto his back. He began to swim as fast as he could. It took him nearly twenty minutes to go back and forth from both continents.
"Is everyone here!?" I shouted.
"We're here, but whats going to happen to us?!" Called a villager.
"Don't worry, you'll all be safe. You're being evacuated to Xenon." I explained.
"Why?" Called another.
"Because Juruda is being destroyed!" I answered.
"But what about all of our homes?" Asked a woman.
"You're going to have to leave it all behind and start over." I said.
"But I've lived here 40 years! Do you expect me to just start over?!" She demanded.
"Sometimes thats the only choice we have." I said calmly.
"But we can't just leave our homes!" Said a man.
"You wanna stay here and drown?" I asked.
"No..."
"Then stop complaining." I said.
As I waited for Leviathan, the water was close to the roof now. I hoped that no one fell into the water, because it would certainly add to the confusion. Suddenly, I heard loud flapping noises. I turned around, only to be stared in the face with a giant creature. It was too dark to make out that it was a wyvern, but all I knew at the time was a giant, vicious looking creature was now face to face with me. He sniffed me, and then dropped in elevation. A little girl jumped off his back and ran up to me. Could it be? Yes, it was Andrea! But what was she doing here, I wondered. She came up to me.
"Damian! You have to hurry! Something horrible has happened!!" She yelled frantically.
"What?! What happened?!" I demanded.
"Theres no time! We have to go back to Velencia Village now!!" She said.
"I can't! I have to make sure these people get to Xenon!"
"But the girl! Shes..." Her voice was drowned out by a huge crash of lightning.
"WHAT? ANDREA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" I yelled out.
"I SAID THE GIRL..." But this time, her voice was interrupted by something else...
"Heeheehee hahahahaha!" Cackled a familiar insanity.
"Oh no..."
"NOT NOW!" I yelled.
"HELLO!!!" Laughed out a very crazed looking Schizo.
"Schizo what do you want?!" I yelled.
"To annoy you!" He said.
"Time is running out..." Schizo said.
"What?" I asked.
"How long can they breathe underwater?" Asked Schizo.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
Schizo then jumped up and body slammed straight into Andrea! She cried out and fell into the water. I watched her struggle to get to the surface, but she couldn't swim. He did this to most of the other people on the rooftop as well. Not knowing what else to do, I rolled up my sleeves and dived in after them. The first person I swam to was Andrea. She was sinking fast, so I swam as quickly as I could. I pulled her to the Surface and Wyvery picked her up in his powerful jaws and carried her to the roof. Wyvery and I worked together to help all of the rest of the people.
They all coughed and breathed hard as they lay on the roof. Schizo was cackling like an idiot. I ran to Schizo and slashed him with my sword. He cried out and I grabbed him around the neck. I then lifted him up and threw him into the water. He struggled and squealed in horror as he nearly drowned. He dematerialized and flew away. I sighed and sheathed my blade. Leviathan came just in time to load up the rest of the people.
"Good Job Damian! I'll take these people back, you go back to the village with Andrea." Said Leviathan.
"Alright!" I said.
As he took them away, I turned to Andrea and said, "So what were you telling me?"
"The Girl! Shes..." But for a third time, she was interrupted.
This time, however, the lightning that crashed down hit right infront of me, knocking me off balanced and into the water. As I hit the water, I didn't really worry about it until I started to get tired. Although I can breathe underwater, It still seemed odd that I was suddenly falling asleep in the water. I tried to fight against it, but I couldn't. I just got more and more exhausted. My eyes started to close as I heard Andrea calling for me from the surface.
"Damian! Damian are you ok!?" She yelled out.
"........"
"Damian!?!?!?"
".........."
"You have to come back Damian! We need you at Velencia Village!!!" She shouted.
"..."
"DAMIAN!!! THE GIRL IS...."
And then her voice faded. Everything faded, the world slowly began to fade to black. All the color drained out of everything. Everything went black. I was not really asleep, but not really awake. I plunged into the darkness, only to find light. I was in a weird room, where everything was white. No darkness at all. I saw a figure in the distance, but I couldn't recognize him. Something told me to approach him, so I did....
